I’ve struggled with the idea of starting a blog for several years. If I were as brilliant now as I was 40 years ago, I would have no resistance because I knew everything then. Now, not so much.
Beyond that, a blog is such a public thing, and I’m such a private person. Nonetheless, I hereby dive in, a woman with many interests. They include:
- learning and teaching
- eating and cooking
- quantum physics
- knitting
- art dolls
- health
- post-polio sequelae
- living simply
- awareness of spirit
- parenting and the shepherding of other young humans
- film
- permaculture
- and a whole lot more. . . .
So much for seeking a niche audience.
By the way . . . that Royal typewriter up above? It’s exactly like the reconditioned one my mom bought for me in 1965 when I set off to college. It was about 25 years old then and it carried me through two English degrees. I carried it across a couple of continents and I was still pounding out pages on it a month before I got rid of it in 1980.
Don’t dismiss old things. They can’t correct your spelling like your new laptop but they’ll outlast it.
And don’t dismiss older people. They’ve already outlasted you.
