I do! I love to make them, although they are very time consuming. But pierogies are one of the many special memories I have of my Nana and I want to continue on with the tradition. Those and potato pancakes, potatoes grated by hand with real bacon grease in the pan. We can most definitely have a family pierogi cooking party, my mom would also love to come!! I make them with cottage cheese filling but would love to learn something new.

You make pierogies???? I love them! I made them with my first husband's grandma, Wanda Cookolska, who was from Warsaw. I don't eat them so much because I would get too rolly-polly (that would be plump), but next time I'm in MI can we have a family pierogi cooking party?

When I make pierogies I use my Nana's old (heavy!) rolling pin with the date 1929 carved into it. I really miss her...

My ma gave me the liquid cup measure for one of the showers for my first wedding in 1969. And the white Pyrex Ovenware casserole dish that I mixed it in? It was hers. For all I know it's older than I and still in great condition. As for the glass juicer? It's a lot older . . . maybe from the 30s. I don't keep this stuff because of nostalgia so much as function. It works for me.
