I've tried that. I really have. God love 'em, but they just want it prepared for them and then to complain when they don't like it. Fortunately, being that Matt is a good father, he's helped them to understand that they eat what is presented or make something for themselves. When asked what they want me to buy for dinners their response is usually "I don't know". And if they can't just pull it out of the fridge or cupboard already prepared and ready to hit the mouth then they won't eat it. They will literally not eat all day during the summer with the exception of a yogurt or Pop Tart here or there. And Andrew wants to go away to school next year! I think me may starve... But i'm willing to bring the idea of helping plan and prepare meals to the table again. You never know...

I wonder if there's a way to bring them into the food choice and preparation routine. Like one night a week have them be responsible for planning and preparing a nutritious meal . . . something to mull on . . .

:-) It won't explode but I may have teenagers literally rolling on the floor gagging. Of course, at this point I don't care. One week they like something, the next they hate it. I can never win... But gone are the days when I took offense!!

Wonderful! But the accountant in me still has trouble with picking a few things, not measuring and just throwing together!!! But I love this post, it helps me to see that cooking isn't rocket science and I can throw a meal together with items I have at home.
